Substances

  • 320g sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 60g tomato-based pizza or pasta sauce
  • 100g grated mozzarella
  • toppings of your selection (we used pancetta, chopped chipolatas and finely chopped purple onion)
  • 3 tbsp pesto, vegetarian if wanted

(window.adq = window.adq || []).push((api) => api.addSlot({“key”:”below-ingredients”,”index”:1,”searchTerm”:null,”fullSearchTerm”:null}));

Methodology

  • STEP 1

    Warmth the oven to 200C/180C fan/gasoline 6. Unroll the pastry and use a small, sharp knife to chop out a big Christmas tree form, reserving any offcuts. Rigorously elevate the pastry tree onto a big baking sheet lined with baking parchment.

  • STEP 2

    Unfold over the tomato sauce, pushing it proper to the sides. Sprinkle over the cheese and any toppings. Unfold the pesto over the pastry offcuts and reduce most of those into 1cm-wide strips utilizing a pizza cutter. Twist and prepare over the tree to make ‘tinsel’. Stamp out stars or different shapes from any remaining offcuts, then use to embellish the tree or bake alongside it.

  • STEP 3

    Bake for 20-25 minutes (eradicating any shapes baked alongside after 15 minutes) till the pastry is overvalued and golden and the cheese has melted. Serve straightaway.
